Any animal can be trained, even your cat! Behaviours such as scratching and urine spraying are normal for cats, but may be undesirable for humans. Your cat is not trying to be naughty, rather these behaviours may be an indicator of stress, or just your cat trying to meet their needs. Deterrent sprays or sticky tape can stop your cat from scratching your furniture, and don’t forget to find a good scratcher for your cat to use instead. Use odour removing cleaning solutions to clean up and prevent your cat from respraying in an undesired location, or spray your furniture with a calming solution to help your cat feel more at ease. Cats are extremely smart and capable of learning many things! Maybe you can even pick up a clicker and a treat bag and teach your cat some tricks!
