Before there was The Honest Kitchen, there was this single recipe, made by our company founder—Lucy, in her own (honest) kitchen. This meat-and-potatoes dish is greater than the sum of its parts, and it had to be since it’s the one that started it all. It’s claim to fame is that it was the world’s FIRST human grade pet food. See what all the fuss is about with tasty ranch-raised beef, fresh produce, and whole grain goodness. This complete and balanced dish nourishes adult and senior dogs looking to maintain their doggy figures. It’s low calorie, low protein, low fat, but high in yumminess.
Dehydrated beef, organic oats, organic barley, flaxseed, dehydrated potatoes, dehydrated carrots, dehydrated eggs, dried apples, dried parsley, dried cranberries, dehydrated spinach, minerals [tricalcium phosphate, potassium chloride, choline chloride, zinc amino acid chelate, iron amino acid chelate, potassium iodide, copper amino acid chelate, sodium selenite], taurine, vitamins [vitamin E supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, thiamine mononitrate (vitamin B1), calcium pantothenate (vitamin B5), riboflavin (vitamin B2), vitamin D3 supplement].
Founder Lucy Postins created a home prepared diet for her own dog, and decided to turn it into a business after friends began asking for the recipe!
With a background in the conventional pet food industry, the gaping difference between conventional 'feed grade' pet food and human food was clear to Lucy. So, she set out to bridge that gap by crafting a clean, trustworthy food for pets that was made to the quality & safety standards of healthy 'people food'.
